Hi,

Just installed the Power FC into my car.

No problems with the learning process, everything seems fine.

But I\'m a bit puzzled because I have no cold air from the A/C

All the motors work fine. The fan works on all positions and you can hear the temperature motor changing the mixture.

Also there is gas in the system (I can see through the inspection window).

I have fitted an uprated radiator. But I thought the only issue with that is getting hot air not cold?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Andrew.

I\'ve read about this a few times before but can\'t find the links now... Bascially make sure it\'s not on all settings, normally it should work on setting 4 IIRC...

If it does then I think you can take the fan speed switch off and give it a good clean up with electrical cleaner and you should be good to go. If i do spot the links with all the info I\'ll post them up!

Well it could be something of my own doing, as I couldn\'t do the learning process quite properly.

The water level dropped in the radiator so I had to stop the car briefly to fill it up again.

Just drained and now refilled with coolant and water wetter. Will see if that makes any difference.

But thanks for the suggestion. I have read about this problem before but the air was warm on all four fan speeds. So that\'s why I\'m a bit puzzled.

Ok, here\'s another weird thing.

Every time I start the engine, I\'m now getting a shot of static (or noise) through the speakers! What\'s that all about?? lol

I don\'t want to damage my £600 speakers!

With the learning thing, if you hadn\'t leaned the AC / Rear window heater loads then all that will happen is it\'ll come on and run rough as hell or maybe stall the engine.

You should be able to hear a click or see the ac compressor engage when you push the ac button, but the PFC is more sensitive to voltages apparently, there\'s a way you can bypass it for the AC but I can\'t remember off the top of my head.

No idea about the static, but I\'d hazard it\'s a earth fault, the stereo earths to the aerial through the chassis IIRC so could just be a gammy earth on the car causing it all?

Just to let others know I\'ve sorted the problem.

The long Earth lead that fastens to the chassis for the original ecu was earthing bad.

Made up a couple of earth leads to the Apexi ECU case to the chassis and also from the original earth lead to the chassis. The problems now appear to be solved.
