Do the large 1600cc injectors come in side feed to fit the standard rails or will I need to be looking at top feed and getting a rail conversion? I have been looking at a few and they all seem to be top feed?
Thank you
Lee

BlitzBoy

only top feed, you need the rail conversion

What about putting in external injectors instead? Cheaper/better option? Do I need to check what impedance injectors I get?

Also can you confirm how I tell what my standard injectors are? Are the colour coded? or is there a number on them?

Thank you
Lee

Kash_

You can get Additional Injector holders on the Plenum or Greddy Elbows which will allow you to use the standard 850cc Injectors..... ooops I forgot to check the colour of the primary injectors for you.... will let you know tommorow dude :cheers

BlitzBoy

you can get another secondary standard rail and weld it to the top of the plenum, Dragon has done this therefore adding 2x850cc

Argh Blitz. That was going to be my next question!! can I weld it anywhere? Could I use a primary rail instead of a secondary? Could I join to injector rails together so they fit near the standard position?? Maybe machine some kind of fixture for them? Or a new rail! I assume I need an external injector controller of some sort? or can I just wire the two sets of 850\'s together on the standard harness? I presume all controllers if I need one are much of a muchness? Are they anything major to setup?

Do the greddy elbows use the side fed injectors then?? So I assume you need to run a fuel feed to them form somewhere?

Thank you
Lee

BlitzBoy

Well the you either need an Apexi ECU and you can configure them that way for extra injectors or a HKS Injector controller , you need to use another secodary rail ideally, you will also need to "T" off the fuel line coming from the Fuel tank, also you will need a Fuel pressure reg to set it up correctly, also do you have an upgraded Fuel pump, as to where to weld the additional rail do a search on Dragons setup and you can see pics where he has mounted it on the plenum.

IMO if you want a simple setup they just go for the KG Parts 1600 Kit as it will have everything you need and no welding required.

If you want to save money then go with Dragons setup they both work

Thanks Blitz.. I clearly never like the easy option! Mainly because I like making bits and saving myslf money!
So I will definately go for the second set of 850 injectors. I\'ll find a spare secondary rail. I already have a Powerf FC ECU to install! So in that case where do I wire the extra injectors into to work with the Power FC? The harness presumably only has room for two? Do I do as I suggested before and splice an extra harness section in? I think I have most of a spare engine loom somewhere!
Is it worth having the HKS controller as a standalone or better that it\'s all done through the ECU?
At the mo I have the standard fuel pump and no reg. I figured I might need these. I am going single turbo and hoping to run around 400bhp eventually at the wheels.. What sort of fuel pump setup is the best (value!) option? Also what regulator will I require. I presuem I can put a \'T\' directly off the regulator?

Thank you
Lee

BlitzBoy

go for the SARD 280lph or Apexi BNR32 or Bosch 044 with the fuel stock, this must be your first fuel upgrade before injectors, You will need contact Ross at Dragon in regards on how to setup the Apexi and splicing of the wires into the Harness, he has loads of  usedspares so he probably has the injectors and rails in stock

Lee I\'ve got a pair of 850\'s for sale and I\'ll throw in the secondary rail free... the rail brackets will need modifying but that should be okay if your going to join it to the plenum.... you can email me at kash_5@hotmail.com if you have anymore questions :)

Thanks for the info guy\'s. First off Blitz I was planning to do all the mods at one time! What about the walbro pumps? I have heard a lot of people mention them..  Don\'t really want to have to starting cutting and shutting the fuel pump wiring!
Kash.. Don\'t worry I hadn\'t forgotten you have the injectors. However I have a complete spare engine in my garage! I need to check and see if the injectors are there and if so that they are the correct ones! If I have any problem I will give you a bell.

Thanks again
Lee

BlitzBoy

Depends which Walbro you got low pressure or high pressure, go for the SARD good price and practically a straight swap

I was thinking the Walbro 255LH? Didn\'t realise there was an option of high or low pressure? When you say the SARD is almost a straight swap are the pumps generally a bit of a hash up to fit then? In what capacity do they differ? Moutings of connection of lines and electrics?

Thank you
Lee

BlitzBoy

yes there are two one of them is cr*p forgotton which version.
Some pumps you have to hack the top of the brass fitting off the original holder and fit a bit of pipe, swapping out the fuel pump with any pump is quite easy though, just make sure you disconnect the battery
