Hi guys,

Hoping someone can help. The other day i was experiencing some battery problems with the negative disconnecting. All fixed now but i believe the power on/off shenanigans have caused some fuses to blow. My headlights are no longer popping up (although the lights are still coming on) and also my headunit refuses to turn on. The reading light still works.

Dont know if any of that makes sense but some help would be really appreciated. Driving at night is scary with just the sidelights! And the lack of music nearly bored me to death on my drive to bristol!!!

Cheers

batman

take all fuses out and check or replace them one by one or check your earths

Cheers mate, checked the fuse and you were right, the pink 30amp had gone. Got Clive to sort me out with a new one.

However still a bit stumped about the headunit. Re checked all fuses and it still refuses to trun on. the unit is a new alpine one, only been in the car 6 months. Heard something about the earth disconnecting sometimes. Any ideas anyone?

some headunits have a fuse in them builtin. worth checkin that one. think headunits are under 30 amps so if ur 30 blow then prob blow that builtin headunit fuse also *fingers crossed*
i know how dull it is to drive 1 1/2 with no music.. lucky got nice exhaust note though =p
2 doritos on a stick woohoo :rollin

haha yeah the exhaust note does ease the pain, but i was trying to be \'frugal\' and drove at 70 all the way there in the granny lane. The note isnt that exciting at such low revs lol.

Anyway swapped out the 30amp fuse for the new one and the headlights still dont pop up! Is there anything else i can do, maybe reset them? The lights come on, just no popup. :-(

check the feeds to the motors to pop the lights up failing that check the relays are switching and have power

Does it malf up the lights popping up if you\'ve got the button on the side of the clocks left in? You know, the one that pops them up without actually switching them on, set in the side of the dome surround. Might be a red herring, but check the simple things before you start dismantling too much else!

VishalStar

Thanks for the help guys.

Checked that popup button on the side but that doesnt help, thats definately not the cause.

How do I check the feeds to the motors? What other fuses could have gone? Ive got a feeling its due to the fuse purely because of the battery problems I was having earlier.

batman

just follow the wires back from the motors and test for 12v failing that i have a set of pop ups going for sale and there mint
