i cant let it go for a couple of hundred quid, it would simply be too much money lost, for less than 500 i\'d rather just have a very tight month or 2, fix it, and sell it with mot & tax to be honest...

unless i got the wrong sudbury ???

You guys do a great job of devaluing these cars :(

sadgoth

TBH what devalues cars is people needing to sell quickly and therefore putting them on ebay with a low reserve! A mate and I bought a non-running cab with 1 months MOT for £500 sorted it out (badly flooded) fixed the dent on the wing and MOT\'d it sold it for £1300 (and that was cheap!!!).

But that doesn\'t help if you need to sell the car, I\'m sure you could get £800-£900 for it if you were prepared to wait, but if you need it shifted ebay isn\'t the place to get a lot of money for a non-MOT\'d car. You\'ll sell it but you won\'t get what you want for it, buyers on ebay know that sellers are desperate (you can normally tell from the low start price or low reserve). I saw a 52 plate AMG Merc CLK55 in good nick with average miles go for £7800 on ebay last month - a similar car was sold by a trader for £14k!

GT4088 turbo   Walbro fuel pump   1000cc injectors   custom V-Mount   Blitz Boost Controller (ok so the boost controller is still to fit)

Loud? Hell yes! :D

James N

True, i\'d ideally like 500, but if it goes on ebay then it\'ll probably have no reserve and i\'ll just have to cope with losing a fair bit of cash on it :(
I probably paid over the odds for it, but i really wanted one, i just bought it at the wrong time!
I\'ve been offered 200, which wouldn\'t be worth me selling it for, i\'ve been told 220-250 if i take it to my local scrapyard!!
I\'d rather sell it to someone on ebay for that than see it scrapped, i really could never scrap it. :(:(

dthebuk

is there not interest in the skyline at all yet?

it just seems such a shame to see it go

James N

Long story... I\'ve kind of broken the skyline, so i\'ll have to fix that as it\'ll be quicker/cheaper than fixing the rex up as the skyline is mot\'d & taxed. But as i have spend a bit to fix skyline it wont be worth selling it, so i\'ll stick a turbo lump in and keep it.

dthebuk

why not sell the turbo skyline for an rx....:D

sounds like your situation sucks mate, hope you work it out

To be honest, i probably will. I really want an FC TII, but it just isn\'t going to happen at the moment. I\'m currently half way through an application to join the RAF, and i\'m driving up to Norwich quite often, only maybe 100 mile round trip, but i need something reliable, and i need it quickly. The Skyline will simply be quicker to get finished, and funds are tight so i cant keep both!

pdtaylor18

As a matter of interest if you need any help in a job in the RAF let me know.  I can give you whatever info you need to make sure you get the right job.  Do not be persuaded to go for a job you did not go in for.  To be honest the best trades are engineering, do not be an armourer, that job has no future employment in civvy street at all.
