Since having my air-con re-gassed the pump has developed a nice squeel.  A quick squirt of WD40 sorts it for a few miles, then its back.  I take it that the bearings are going :(

Is there any way of sorting this or should I just replace the air-con pump?

Dont fancy it seizing and snapping the belt!

Oh, and if im replacing it is it an easy job?  Couple of bolts and remove the belt as per the air pump or alternator?

Hi Chris,

My pump recently seized up, no warning noises, just lots of squeeling from the belt once it seized, plus smoke which worried me half to death!

A/C has never worked ( ie cool air ) so I\'ve just got the shorter belt for P/S only, bypassing the A/C completley. Will get round to removing the A/C pump at some stage!

You could do the same in the meantime rather than run the risk of it seizing up with the belt on!

Good thinking matey, ill look into it :)

Im the mean-time has anyone got an air-con pump for sale.  Ideally off a low miler and for not alot of money.  Lots of you must have done the air-con removal :)
