Hmmm - sounds a bit dubious, fitting a super-charger in front of a turbo :D

tbh it looks like just another ebay money making scam, although harder to tell (no magnets :D)  I suppose in theory (i don;t know if their numbers re CFM etc are sensible) it might help at slower speeds when the turbos aren\'t active?  but i really wouldn\'t want to risk it :)

i think blowing air at the impeller of a turbocharger with a fan like this, would have little or no measurable effect on power. maybe a bit on N/a cars but hmm id like to see some evidence. i wonder if on an NA car this would even boost at .1 bar. maybe not even a quarter of that.? any thoughts guys.

25,000 rpm if true with a 70mm fan say. what would that equate to?

i seriously dont think this would work on a turbo car if at all. its liek putting a mini turbo to blow air into another one????? i bet only 17/18 year olds buy these for thier corsas

Havent look at the link as at work and fleabay aint allowed but, If its the electric fans that fit into the intake they are yet another hairbrained idea that doesnt work.

They fit into the same bracket as the "powerchips" and such,  Just ****e

I vaguely recall that one of the mags tested these years ago on a Mister Two. Was it JTuner? Or Jap Performance? Anyway, it lost the car power on the dyno by basically putting a whooring great block in the intake system! The thing\'d have to spin at some ridiculous rpmx1000s to actually do anything other than make an annoying whirring noise and impede airflow, and it\'s not gonna do that powered by a 12 volt electric office fan motor! Bucket of w@nk!

just as i thought. i think you just need to ask yourself if a mod is not being used in any motorsport and you havny heard of it. its bull****. magnets and fans prrp

I think someone tested one of these on a V6 of some type. Calibra or cavalier maybe. Anyway, it recorded a huge power loss due to a restriction as mentioned above. I think a turbo would probably break the fan off and suck it straight in to the engine!! I\'d never risk one!

IIRC correctly axial fans are good at flow, but cannot increase pressure, so they wont increase the charge density.

A way to tie a supercharger and a turbocharger together has already been done, the e-bay miracle is NOT it though..

The way a Compound Charger (combo turbo/supercharger) works is very similar to the sequential system in the FD. Basically you have one charger (blower) providing additional power to the engine from 1-4krpm\'s than it transitions over to the second charger (turbo), which provids power for the remainder of the rpm range. This requires a LOT of R&D to make it work with different types of motors, and a separate intake for each charger.

I hate to say it, but if you pick up one of those ebay inventions from a no-name company.... could you just send me the money instead? ^_^

Utter eBay bobbins. Why not just fit a power resistor of justice and some vortex generators at the same time?!
However, did someone say compound charged?

The Bee*R Twincharged Silvia is freakin\' awesome.

It\'s complete bunkum, a foolish friend of mine asked me to fit one to his Escort.  It\'s a beefed up computer cooling fan and when I put the wires across the terminal of his battery it blew air like an asthmatic snail coughing through a straw.  I\'ve still got it as a souvenir of his ineptitude and guilibility.

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

I will slap you if you fit one of these.....  And I can reach over to wirral! :D

haha that looks awesome, so funny seeing the crap people come up with hehe

A friend bought one of these, honest not me,  really was not me (just to make it clear) about 5 years ago it was called  a turbo zet.
I remember it well as he ask me up to his garage as he was fitting it, all seemed to go well, he fitted it to a civic vti, 160bhp.
Anyway he fitted it backwards so the thing was trying to push air out :) as his engine was trying to suck it in.
He ended up snapping the plastic blades of the thing and sucking them in to the engine, laugh I almost peed myself. serious piece of rubbish.

But I have seena video on you tube, some guys in the us have put a leaf blower onto a car and run it on the dyno and get some great results

here it is

Leaf blower strapped to your inlet manifold would be a pretty cool supercharger type mod.  No power drain on the engine and plenty of flow, heat and space to install might be a problem but it would be different.
