Well, it\'s given me a good chuckle, thanks mate! If it makes you feel any better, I once rode my Yamaha to work (about 15 miles) wondering why my right boot seemed to be slipping off the footrest a lot....yeah, you know what\'s coming next. Only difference is there\'s not a handy rad cowling to leave the oil filler cap on on a bike! And I won\'t even mention when I rode off from the Town Centre bike park with the front brake disc lock still on....for about a yard!

I had an old seirra years ago. Was a great car (4x4 V6 :)) it but had a slight leak in the radiator. I had to go up to stanstead for work one day and decided to top the water up just in case (the leak really was tiny). So stopped at the local garage to fill it up. When i got off the motorway at stanstead i noticed that the water temp had shot up. so quickly stopped and had a look, and there to my surprise was the rad cap still on the suspenion strut where i\'d left it. Lucky me i thought. So i let it cool down and filled it all back up.

The sad thing was that once i got back to Guildford again i noticed it was still running a bit hot so decided to top up the water again thinking i hadnt put enough in the first time and did the exact same thing again but this time wasn\'t so lucky as the engine went pop in the middle of town :(

Moral: we all do silly things sometimes. Its whether we get away with it that counts :D

lol.. d\'oh springs to mind..

tho the other day when i was poking around trying to get the acv off i left my mobile nr the hinge of the hood and forgot about it.. then when i went to close the hood it wouldnt lock properly then i realised i squished my fone.. lucky was a slim fone so no damage to the fc or the phone..

though if 1 had to break i\'d pref it to be the fone than the fc lol

Lucky cap is still there, doubt you lost any but might have some crap gone in there, might be worth an oil and filter change.

You might also get the wheels skimmed o stop any damage, 1mm is not much of a clearance

dthebuk

hm problem is that i changed the oil and filter and added some engine restorer (which is expensive stuff) a few weeks ago. how urgent do you think an oil change is?                                                                           also the wheels have a larger diameter deeper inside so i may just get some spacers untill i can afford new wheels. cheers for the advice though :D
