Solenoid "D" ???

Just wondering why I haven\'t got it? I\'m in the middle of re doing my vacuum hoses, and i noticed that I don\'t have solenoid D (EGR Solenoid). There are 2 spare metal pipes on the rats nest that the solenoid connects to, but no pipes or solenoid. I\'m guessing my car does not need it because i also don\'t have the port on the manifold for it. I was just interested in what it\'s for, and whether it was model specific? any info would be grat cheers.

Do you still have the EGR fitted bud? If not then you dont need this solenoid

Sorry m8 lol, instead of getting you to answer the question for me I did a bit of research. Found out it\'s the exhaust gas recirculation valve. Apparently if it is removed the car won\'t be road legal? Anyway, just been and had a look and it appears as though i have one and it is connected....but not to the solenoid:3Confused one end goes to a pipe on the manifold (facing away from the car, not on the side shown in the vac diagram) and the other port connects to the Y pipe somewhere.

any ideas to why? or is the part i thought was the egr actually something else? it seems at though the part i\'m looking at is in the place where the valve should be, but after looking at pics of an actual EGR, mine doesn\'t look anything like it.... Cheers

To my understanding the EGR was an extra part fitted to the American Rx7\'s to pass their emissions over in cal etc. I don\'t think they ever were on the Jap/Uk spec versions. I think what you took a photo of was the valve for the charge control actuator.

Yep thats the charge control actuator, the egr sits behind the uim if your looking from the front of the car. Mines disabled at the moment as it\'s not really required TBH

Nice one mate cheers, reassures me a bit. I thought that was the case but wasn\'t sure. Anyway, just about to start the dreaded vac hose replacement. I\'ll post pics up once it\'s complete. Thanks again for the help m8\'s!
