Thanks for your positive comments, Mazda only designate R or RX to prototype or Export Mazda\'s rotaries. The RX87 was going to be called the R130 on the export market however they never did export any so there is no such thing as an R130.

Don\'t know if anyone has any info on this one but a Mazda Europe guy once asked me if we had any Rotary 323\'s in the club,

Turned out he was joking as he didn\'t expect there to be, however he did go on to tell me that he had found with the aid of his Mazda computer he found that in 1990 Mazda made and tried out 150 323\'s on the JDM market
All the best Clive

ahh so its a RX87, personally I like the looks, very 60s Italian design reminds me of the old Lancias

I kinda like it. Is a bit different :)
The rx87 badge would be good for a rx8 fronted 7 too :D

The luce rotary coupe was the only production rotary mazda in Japan to be badged with RX.

In Japan they had their own names for rotary cars.

Gen 1 Familia=R100 (68-73)
Gen 1 Luce= RX87
Gen 1 Capella =RX-2 (70-78)
Gen1 Savanna =RX-3 (71-77)
Gen2 Luce =RX-4 (72-76)
Gen2 Cosmo =RX-5 (75-80)
Gen2 Savanna =RX-7 (78-84)
Gen3 Savanna =RX-7 (85-92)
