the best solution for sulking is buying some new toys for your rotor motor :)

is XS-power no good then? i seen them too(they come without ducting tho and they r much smaller)

the one thing about knighsport one is that is nearly exactly like the standard intercooler and paying 750 for standard IC is in my mind a bit 2 much..

Quote from: Nik da Greek;515692Looks very much like the XSPower ones you see cheap on eBay a lot (for a good reason, I understand). Pettit have a very good reputation in Yank land, been building quick rotaries forever. Only problem is that it leaves you nowhere to put your intakes, battery, etc

For the price, and with some ducting and custom fab, they still work very well on moderate power levels

True. Unfortunately, the ungrateful b!tch chose to repay the £2k\'s worth of toys I\'ve just bought her by chewing up and spitting out the primary turbo compressor wheel, so she ain\'t getting any more love from me this year. Consolation was I\'ve just got enough cash left for a kebab, lol which is nearly as good as new car bits, though you end up nearly as greasy! :Thumbs-up

I think all intercoolers are not created equal. 730 quid for the Knightsports does seem a bit salty, but you will at least know its been designed, tested and improved to work as well as it possibly can in your car. Unlike an XS Power one which, well, hasn\'t.

I think it was Japanese Performance who tested a load of IC\'s on a Scooby and some of them were less effective than even the stock top-mount interwarmer. It\'s no good just getting the biggest IC you can fit into the engine bay if it\'s just one massive airflow restriction because of poor pipe routing, design, or lack of proper ducting. With a few exceptions, things are generally very cheap for a good reason, that they\'re also not very good and have no time or R&D invested in them.

(Kebabs are one exception! :chat)

That is true, but often with a little effort you can make a mediocre product a lot better :)

As alluded to above, I\'m running a £70 second hand XSP SMIC in a V mount config. Why V mount (well, when i went to fit it stock mount there was no way it would fit, so the easiest option was a \'V\' :D

I consistently see inlet temps about 5-10 degrees above ambient with mine, which i\'m pretty happy with. That\'s running 0.9 bar on stock twins making circa 340 as measured at Pips :)
I\'m not saying the KS isn\'t a lot better, it\'s jsut sometimes you need to look at outlay vs performance and see if it\'s really worth it :) I\'m probably never going to move off the twins, so it will suit me fine :)

can i just ask.. whats the advantage of using the knightsports super intake over the standard airbox?

hairyhoover

SIH.... have you got any pics?

The Knightsports super intake is designed to work with various after market induction kits which typically take in more air than the std panel filter. Also the flow design of the KS intake system id more direct.

Hope this helps.
