I know this is flogging a dead horse but when i did a search about suspension there were simply to many brand names being advocated that it all got abit confusing :3Confused , so i would be glad if someone has a good idea of what coilover kit would be good for me.

I would like something off the shelf, so i have little interest in consulting with Leda, Ohlins, Quantum etc about a setup which is matched exactly to my car driving style. My FD3S will have around 420-450fwhp when its done :2eek so i want something that will help tame the beast so to speak (tyres will be T1Rs with TE37 wheels, original choice...not  ).  I will be unlikely to track it more than once a year, so i would like something that minimizes body roll without causing disastrous ride quality loss.

My last 2 cars (golf, fiat coupe) had KW V3s and V2s on them, which were astonishingly good, but unfortunately KW dont make a kit for the RX7 afaik.

Price is not a concern unless it creeps above £2000.

Are Tein SS a good all rounder for the money and is EDFC worth getting?

Sorry for the dumb and continuously repeated questions but with european cars suspension choices are usually a little more obvious, but there are so MANY suspension kits for the FD3s from the UK, US and Japan that it all becomes a little bewildering!

Many thanks for any replies!

KW\'s are good quailty, but Tein are also worth a look. Leda went into administration some time ago so not sure if their still about.

Just been through this particular hoop myself recently... ended up with Tein SS.. good street ride quality with scope for easily setting up for the track

Like you I\'m not on the track much so street use was the main need for me too.

Very reliable, didn\'t see a single unhappy customer when I was researching... you can get the EDFC later on if you\'re that bothered about it, but to be honest, seems like a bit of a gimmick to me.

EDFC is far from a gimmick and I have data to support that. In thorough testing at UK circuits I proved it worked (most of the write ups were on Skyline forums and autojournals, I can find links if you need them)

I was concerned beforehand and felt that the only way of knowing was to dig deep and get on with it. The best £250 I spent on the car in my opinion but I do a lot of trackdays and if you don\'t, I wouldn\'t bother.

Hope you don\'t mind me jumping in :)

We stock and supply Nitron\'s.

They are comparable to that of Ohlins, but without the price!

Their basic kit, which is a single adjustable unit, starts at £1245, but remember you will receive a 5% discount for being a club member for these.  We can fit these for you and set up the corner weights toe and camber settings at the same time.

If you have a bit more budget then the 2 ways are incredible, and we have sold these to a number of customers for track use. £1895, but as you arent spending that much time on track they will be over kill!

Nitrons have an excellent reputation in the Elise world, didnt know they supplied for Japanese cars, ill drop you a line soon, thanks for the heads up!

AtomicRex

Yes they have....our last customers\' car was an elise!  And he was saying that they are the number one shock in the elise world.  We\'ve supplied to a number of Caterhams too.  We are running 3 ways on our own cars.  First set due to go on in the couple of weeks
