my oil pressure does not seem to be that great (reading from defi guage and sensor on a sandwich plate by oil filter) it does rise like it should when driving just seems to be a bit low when on idle (but there is pressure)

Any Ideas what I can do to sort it? or is it ok?

marco

you got pressure? it rises with rpm? what kind of pressure are you seeing during driving? you don\'t need loads of pressure, so long as there is some so that it gets sent to all parts of the engine. so long asthere is some i wouldnt be overly concerned, esp if it has been like this for a while (if there is an oil problem it would show up very quickly!) however if you are worried, you could try replacing the oil (i dunno how long you have had it in, but it will break down over time and lose viscosity, hence pressure) or try a thicker blend (what you running at the moment?) could also be due to sensor location- my factory and aftermarket gauges read completely differently, and the difference varies by a great deal.
also do you have single or dual oil cooler? the cooler it is the more viscous and hence will read higher pressure.

oh, draco, i may have some phots to show you tonight, just finishing a pot of coffee then going out to attempt the \'Eleanor\' of jobs on my car!!!!!!

ok I have deul oil coolers/ running Shell Helix oil and been in for 2 months max. when driving I get pressure of around 4 to 6 bar or is it psi  not sure :P
it is just on idle there is pressure but it just seems low ( 600rpm idle ) there are no signs of oil leaks

marco

its always been like that? sound fine to me mate, must be paranoia kicking in!

On driving, I\'m seeing between 3 - 4 bar on my apexi gauge and at idle when hot I am getting about 0.8 - 1 bar oil pressure.
