Finally got the doors, turbo and downpipe on. But i\'ve hit a rather large snag. The aftermarket exhaust and downpipe from the T78 don\'t meet.. at all. Since the kit is off another FC the downpipe must be correct, so my exhuast is useless :(

I can get a bit of pipe welded together, but since i was planning on getting another exhaust eventually anyway it would seem that would be the best option.

Anyone got any ideas? It needs to be track noise legal

Cheers,

Charlie.

Ps, the car looks the ******** now.. lol

is there no way you can get it trailered somewhere and get them to fab you up a system?

vixpy1

Yes, that is an option. Rather an expensive one though!

DRIFTMOTION

Which T78 kit is it... Trust? HKS?

I know alot of the kits have the turbo sitting forward, then a pipe to the downpipe.
Also nearly all Jap spec exhaust systems run cat back. So you may need a test pipe.

Have you got any pics to post?

vixpy1

Its a greddy kit.

Downpipe is straight off hot side and goes down, its much longer than the standard downpipe. Its come off another FC,  bought off Skim41 on here a year or so back.

Will get some pics tommorow.

I might have use for that downpipe... might need some pics tho

fabrication is the only way by the looks of it unless you buy the specific exhaust. Going to have to do that to mine, well someone else will, my welding equipment is not that good especially when its stainless. Most after market turbos sit a lot further forward so will require a longer downpipe section at the turbo end. I am sure you will find a way, post some pics though as then we can all see as there are a few of us that have gone through the conversion of some sort.

Can you not repair the area using something like jetex sections. Its all bolted together with swaged ends. They do silencers too !
