I finally got the opportunity to get my car on the ramps and inspect the exhaust, etc yesterday.

I notice that it\'s a straight through pipe from the turbo back with the wastegate plumbed back into it.

Now i\'ve booked a trip to the nurburgring in August so need to find a way of making the exhaust a little quieter. I\'d also like to go to Donnington at the end of the summer as well.

I\'m guessing without changing the whole thing my only option is a silence mid-pipe. First of all how good are they? Is it going to make that much of a difference?

Secondly, how much should i expect to pay. I think the exhaust is a custom job from WGT.

Thanks

I\'ve got a silenced midpipe and still made very good power. With stock twins, stock ports, an HKS frontpipe, and a Nur spec, we measured it using a £35 maplin sound meter at 95db at 4.5k!
Yesterday at Combe, with the bung in, it was 92!

That\'s a Tiger midpipe, btw :)

Where did you get that from, what sort of price? :)

It was second hand, can\'t remember what i paid i\'m afraid - i think Dragon may do them?
They\'re somewhere in teh region of £160 new or similar.
The alternative (which is probably much cheaper) is to get something like a Jetex silencer welded into your existing mid pipe :)

What manufactuer is that from?

I\'m at WGT in a couple of weeks so will ask them for some advice and prices as well but i\'d like to keep my options open.

I was sold it as a Dragon mid pipe but there are no markings on it to say it is.

Anyone confirm or deny that..?
