I am going to be fitting a Odyssey battery into the passenger side storage bin.  Need to know where best to run the Earth cable. Does it need to be run back through to the original earth point?

Also i have allready running from the engine bay to my I.C.E install a 4awg power cable. Can this be used for the relocation of the new battery or would i need to run a bigger gauge cable?

Cheers Garith.

Anywhere on the body is good enough. It might pay to run it to 2 points behind the back seat.Where the backrest folds down, there is a nice chunky bolt that holds the backrest to the floor. No need to run the wire all the way back to the engine bay.

As for the 4 awg cable, it\'s not enough. I would use 1 AWG or bigger.

Hi robbie,

Thanks mate I have not got back seats but i am sure the bolts will still be there. As for the power I was thinking maybe 2awg but i surpose the bigger the better.

Cheers Garith.

If you pull off the side panels by the bins there are a whole heap of threaded holes underneath that you can use :) I used one of these - strip the paint off with a bit of emery paper, and Bobs yer uncle :)

Use the biggest gauge cable you can - I used Welding cable, can\'t remember the size, but it\'s roughly equivalent to 0AWG, and a fraction of the cost. Also a lot more flexible. I then encased all of that in plastic flexible conduit.
