Just checking M1tch\'s fault codes today - and we got a 30 and 35 code.  The 30 is split air - which makes sense, as he\'s discovered he has a down pipe and the split air piping has been removed and pinched off at the outlet from the lower inlet manifold - I guess they\'ve just unplugged the solenoid valve.

However, despite furious and frantic searches on the Interweb and on here, we\'ve drawn a blank on the status 35 !

We deliberately threw a MAP sensor fault to check the ECU diags were working correctly - and it picked that up straight away - and still reports the other 2 codes.

Anyone got any ideas what this is ?

Model is Turbo II 91 spec.

IIRC a code 35 is the check valve/solenoid?

Is that for the emissions / Air Control Valve as well ?

I honestly can\'t remember - I know I had a similar fault.  If its the BACS valve then the car probably wouldn\'t idle, so going on that I would think its the bosot control solenoid. (Little Brown jobbie near the injector plugs)

Did the fC have a solenoid controlled butterfly exhaust set-up? e.g. it opens up over certain revs from one to two.

I ask because error 35 on the cosmo comes up when you replace the exhaust system and butterfly.
no clue at all.

That was on the Series 4 cars - the old Twin Scroll system - but interesting if that was the code for that - BAC is deffo 34, and the next one in the tables we can find is OMP but that\'s 37 - definitely only 5 pulses on the \'units\' - so guess we got a rogue code for something !

35 - I deffo had it, I\'m sure it\'s the boost solenoid..... let me search the tinterweb and get back to you :)

There you go:-

Just had a mad thought - 35...could be the default for no codes stored?  I will have to have a look when I get to be sure...

There was also the code 30 stored as well, although it seems the optional extra Mazda OEM alarm is being a bit \'spechal\' at the moment (after finding a cool red button on the steering cowling lol) but the fault codes are from the ECU so I dunno if thats the cause. Mind you, it seems that my engine check light doesn\'t work when Prof did the diagnostics stuff yesterday, but the diagnostics system is working as we unplugged the MAP sensor and that then gave us codes 13,30 and 35, so tis working lol I have found that the downpipe has been changed removing the two precats, so im gonna take up the front carpet and see if the ECU has been changed lol *crosses fingers* :D

Brett

M1tch theres another button for those alarms - give me an email on Brett.williamsATttt.co.uk and I will explain more. (Obviously I will NOT divulge alarm info on the internet)

Yep the code 30 is genuine and is almost certainly because the split air solenoid is disconnected - they\'ve pinched together the pipe - unnecessary as it only blows out air - but hey ho.

Code 35 - it\'s not a no fault found code - when we made it throw a \'13\' by disconnecting that as well, it threw a 13, 30, 35.  That also suggests it\'s not us reading it in the wrong order either.

we get
Long Pause - L L L P L L L P S S S S S

...then it repeats.  When we unplugged the MAP sensor we got

Long Pause - L P S S S P L L L P L L L P S S S S S

and then it repeated.  Defo a 35.  It\'s almost certainly an output device, as they all have the higher codes.  Just wondered if ABS option has any codes ?
