Really? You know this for sure? Otherwise I\'ll be sending my documents off for no reason, and I need to get this done.

You\'re right, my other option was simply to get an aftermarket one fitted. Not even on the dash, just stuck in front of speedo, cheap as! The said I\'ll have to have an invoice from a garage to prove it was done.

This is what I am really F**KED off about. If they had it on the F**KING list of requirements, then I would have done it, no probs. But they don\'t, I have provided every little scrap of paper they have asked for in the requirements to register a vehicle. Its written somewhere obscure in one of their little booklets, and now I have to wait even longer!!

Freddy

A friend had his fd registered last week in Manchester with a kmh speedo. No problems.

A 9mm and a balaclava can work wonders lol.

Just registered a GTR today with no problems..... Speedo still in KMH as it\'s a cool nismo 300 kmh one.

nick english

when i had mine sva tested all they reqd was it to read mph so put a sticker over it and it failed due to kmh shining through sticker-how picky!!!!
was told to black out the k giving you mh and it passed the sva no probs then.

Kevin

Not applicable to this situation though as his doesnt require sva test.  Only MOT test which doesnt require the speedo to read in mph.

Exactly, my friend had a mini and his speedo does not even work but it passes each year!

Should all be good, I am reposting all my docs tomorrow. So watch this space!!:Laugh

(Private roads of course!!!)

One last question, should I have got my Japanese Deregistration doc back, or does the DVLA keep these?

Kevin

Congratulations mate!

You should get back the English translation of the Japanese De-reg.  The DVLA are meant to keep the actual Japanese De-reg.

Freddy

Great stuff, glad to hear it worked out. :)
