Quote from: ShiukoWell, over here at the dealership it will cost you over £5000.
RHD is selling then for £2800.
You can\'t buy a new engine anymore through Mazda UK,the ones they sell are remanufactured ones from the USA,which are often not very good engines.

Well, my injector kit cost me £350, and i got nobbled an extra £50 all in all. So for a £3500 engine, it\'ll be in the region of £500! Ouch!

And, as Kevin says, there\'s fitting too.

Shiuko

Well, I supose that it\'ll be cheaper to rebuild the engine if the one I\'ll be getting would be a remanufactured unit anyway.

About Jason, I\'ve taken my car to Super7 when I first bought it and wasn\'t very happy about the service I\'ve received.

I think that he knew that I didn\'t have much idea about my car and decided to charge £600 for just changing the belts and a look over. He told me that there was a problem with one of the turbos no working properly, and ignored that I\'ve told him that there was a coolant leak somewhere.I asked him for a receipt and never got one.

So he got me once, but he won\'t get to see my wallet again.

You still have got two decent choices near you mate, there\'s Dragon Performance and Hayward Rotary I believe....

nikp

Go with Hayward. A much better choice IMO

Shiuko

Yes, I spoke to Carl in rotorstock, and he seems a very knowledgeable person, plus everybody in here is happy to praise his work.

The problem is not fixing the engine, the thing is that most of the people will try and overcharge you if you don\'t know exactly what they\'ll have to do and how much should they charge you.
For example: you take your computer for samething simple to fix, the technician sucks his teeth and tells you:
Nah, the motherboard is properly f\'cked, you\'ll need another one that casually I can suply for you. Funny part is that he will charge for your very same old motherboard, and the price of the simple repair that you took it there for.

Why can\'t people be honest?
What happen to a fair pay for a fair day work?

I think Jason\'s problem at Super Seven is his time management skills, or lack of, rather than that he\'s actually trying to rip you off. I\'ve had him work on mine a few times, and the work he\'s done has always been to an excellent standard at a very reasonable price BUT there\'s always a couple of things he runs out of time to finish (such as my fog light switch that\'s under the dash held on with a sticky pad!). I don\'t think he\'d ever cut corners on important work, though, his work on my engine has always been of very high standard, and he\'s helped by pointing out some faults I wasn\'t aware of, too (yes, genuine faults!)

It\'d maybe be better if he just said "no, I won\'t have time to do all that just now, you\'ll have to bring it back later for the other stuff". In a way, though, I\'d rather take my car to someone who\'s too busy than someone who has all the time in the world, it\'s generally for  a reason!

Well, at last my car is at Haywards for a rebuild and some extended porting.
Can\'t wait to get it back. :burnout
