Hi guys!

Just thought I would say hello, am considering getting an RX-7 in the near future and am just searching through previous posts to find out some info.

One question though what does FD stand for?

:)

J4P RX

Its the 3rd Gen RX7 chassis code.  FD3S.

Youll find its used a fair bit in the Jap scene to refer to a car, as its a bit more specific than just RX7.  When you start getting really geeky you know lots of them

Oh cheers, like the Supra JZA80!

Looking at some nice cars around.  Budget is variable, and am considering a cheaper one that requires bodywrok etc as I want to get a full respray, and some new wheels anyway.

Will post up should I end up with one, am currently looking through all specs and stuff, like the Supra there is much to learn!

Are they reliable though if mainted properly, I know rebuilds are important at around 60,000 miles and will factor thta in to any car that I buy.

Hi Steve W2

If you haven\'t already I would study the \'insuring your rotary\'

section - if your not prepared for this within your budget it could

be a shock, at least your 25+

Good luck

John
I started with nothing and I have most of it left

Hi John, I haven\'t spoken to my insurance company about it yet and am only 24:)   But will be 25 at the end of May (I need to be 24 for that little bit longer;) )

I currently pay 620 fully comp on my import Supra GZ TT.  It surely cant be much more than that.........can it?:(

I\'m off to check the insurance section then.......

Steve W2

...............GULP!!   That doesn\'t look good, is ther any particular reason they are so  much of a pain in the ass to insure?

That might put me off if I get stupid quotes.:(

Steve W2

Just did a quick Tesco quote and it came out at £947.60 fully comp, thats quite a lot more than I am paying at the moment for a higher powered car.

WTF is that about?  In fairness though some guys in the insurance section are paying alot more than that.

J4P RX

Shouldnt be too bad, we have a lot of young owners here and they all are managing to get decent quotes.

Your Supra quote sounds good though, thats the problem.  Surely thats not with Tesco?!

Yup, with Tesco.  I haven\'t phoned them up and asked what it would cost to change, I just did the online application again.

Maybe, it might come down after having the Supe for a year?

They have been pretty good for me though, I was insured with them for my 200SX S14a as well.

What does 10A poster mean?

What does 10A poster mean?

It doesnt mean anything in particular really.  Its just a setting depending on how many posts you have.

I cant remember the exact order, but it goes through the names of various rotary engines.  Most people just have custom text there now.
