Hi guys, made a few calls to our specialists but seem to have no conclusive remedy!
I am running a single plate OS Giken clutch which requires, push to pull or other way round converter. Just fitted new friction plate and cover and yet clutch still bites cm\'s from the floor, you really only have to lift your toes and it engages. I have driven a few RX\'s with performance cluthes but never had this. Any idea on what might remedy the problem??

Bobbit

I\'ve just had a clutch change and mine does this too, nearly smashed into a wall the first time i tried to drive it.
:Laugh LOL

I"ve had single plate extreme and now triple plate carbonetics, and although my car is now virtually drag only, both have been really driveable.I think its mostly down to the set up and adjustment when iniatially installed.Ross did mine jon.:Thumbsup!

As far as i am aware, there is no adjustment Steve, how do adjust the bitting point?

Timmy

Because the clutch has more material on it the bite point is lower, it had probably had been adjusted before with clutch wear. Well thats what normal car do i know nothing about this pull push stuff.

jetpilot

I understand what your saying but as mentioned have driven plenty of RX with new clutches and this just isnt right, where is the adjustment you mention Timmy.

arrouk

on the inside of the car at the top of the clutch peddle.

Without sounding daft, surely that just alters the height of the pedal itself not the bitting point??

I hope it is that simple though.

With this mod you will need to reset the pedal hight anyway so adjusting the pedal may sort your problem,

However if this does not cure the problem if it were me I would then pull out the slave and start measuring the distance of the slave rod to the arm in the bellhousing just incase the arm is pushing over center.

Hopefully though a quick adjust of the pedal will sort the problem for you

"If" you start going around in circles with this you should know you can give me a ring and I will try and help
