this has been covered to death
if uk car after 92 full test cat required
uk car pre 92 no cat test max 3.5 c/o

import cars up to 95
no cat test max 3.5 co/o
if u just do a search this is one of the most widely covered topics

I got this from the web.

The sensor can be tested for output by connecting to it a digital voltmeter, set to a 2v scale. Connect the +ve test lead to the sensor signal wire [See wire colours] and the -ve test lead to earth/battery -ve. The voltage produced should swing from app 0.2v to 0.8v and back around once per second. If the voltage is stuck high then the engine is probably running rich for some other reason. If stuck low then usually either a faulty Lambda Sensor, air leak or an engine running very weak for some reason.

My sensor gives out 0.8 v+ constantly, therefore saying that the engine is rich for another reason!

Funking hell!!!!!

DC-TYPER

a standard emmisions test is  a max of 4.0%, take your car down the road and get him to do the emmisions first, you should be ok if you got 4.4% previous. check your oil aswell, the thinner the better

adamk

ok buddy will do.

adamk

Hang on,  he thinks the car should be <0.200% co?? at least thats what the sheet says??
now im totally confused? . com:o :o

DC-TYPER

as rx7veilside says, he shouldnt find an import, thats why he should have done the set test that we have been on about, you should talk to his manager mate. he has tested your car against figures of another car, thats where th 2.00% has come from

adamk

Ah I see, and at that I have no chance! Ill bugger him Tmr. What a ****!!

:cheers  Thanks lads

adamk

I just rang VOSA, they tried a search for my Vin number, however like you say the vin number does not tie up therefore the car should be tested as a non cat.

The CO is must be <3.5% not <4.0% and the HC is <1200 ppm.

Either way I still fail :( :(

DC-TYPER

strange my printout states a possible max of 4.0% and i do mot\'s every day  lol
