I would hate to lead you up the garden path, but have you tried removing the stereo? I can reach the back of mine through this hole I think! Not 100% sure though:confused:

Is it an S2000 style start button;)
Mines Black and dirtier than Donatos. But hey, no-one asked for a good clean fight.

grinder

S2000 button - nah thats not my style

and taking the radio out is a bit over the top in my eyes

the mazda book says ( well it says jack about it really ) - but for a dash removal :-

1 - remove ash try
2 - remove cig lighter

now it cant be tooo hard .. is it a push fit , is it screwed in

i will have nosey tommorrow and see what happens

the hint is ....... people think its rice !! :)

Sorry.  I\'ll get me coat......TAXI.

Sean

Egg fried is my fav, are you gonna fit a 12V wok?

grinder

oh dear god - what are you lot on ( but i want some !! )

its easy to get it out -

1 - remove ash tray
2 - remove 2 screws
3 - remove top heater vents
4 - remove 2 screws
5 - rip off front of dash
6 - unplug cig lighter

and this sounds like its a big build up - well it isnt and you will all think its really sad - so in not telling  :(

I removed the cig lighter by accident yesterday! :o  had to take the centre section and centre console out to remove the carpet and cig lighter came out too! put all back now without carpets! makes for easier cleaning ! :D  Car is now almost there! no carpets, no rear seats, no sound deadening! Now the cabin is a noisy place to be! And now for phase 2, which I suspect will involve a visit to Dorset.

well the plan was to fit under dash two inch neons ( green of course )

the problem is , is that they just arent very bright - so onto the next idea !!

im gonna try and get some boot lights from the scrappy and see if i can fit 5w bulbs and holders up under the dash - and get some glass paint and paint the bulbs green !

at the end of the day i now have a fly lead and block connector at in the passenger footwell that gets power when the lights are on - its spiked from the fag lighter bulb !!!

and im now toying with the idea - of using on of the neons and fit it behind the top air vent !! :)

it looks simple enough - run the wire up behind the front trim and into the heater vent - and then put the front back on

i will have to have another look and see what i can do - only down side on all this , is that the neons are one a cig lighter adaptor ( one for each neon ) so that needs respitting - and then finding somewhere to hide them

Oh well it was the first project that seemed to have gone badly ... NEXT !!!!!!!!!!!!

They will definatly light up the passengers footwell!!!:cool

grinder

thats sean - you will have to keep an eye on your car at the next meet - i may just have to steal them ( or failing this just swap number plates round !!! )
