+1

I once let a customer drive round in a really high grade RX7 for a weekend so that he would be happy with putting his money into buying the car.  He came back on the monday with a list a mile long, of let me just say absolutely ridiculous content.... Including how disgusted he was that he\'d had to put £30 of petrol in there for all the driving he did over the weekend....!!! and even wanted me to re-imburse him for it!!!!!....!!!

Lets just say I learnt my lesson that day and told him were to go...

When it all boils down to it you are buying a second hand car, it\'s always going to be a risk, no matter how good the car appears on the surface.

If anyone wants total piece of mind go buy a new car from a dealer and be done with it.

Regarding the first point, I had numerous chats with Clive & Glenn regarding the issue and anyone out there who has owned or owns a business will tell you that there are always some people who are unhappy (just like yours in the car painting business). After the conversations with mods here - in the end it was best to save my side in case of any legal actions. That said, I felt it shouldn’t have affected me as the whole situation was more complex than the simplicity of the post by the member. Either Glenn, Clive, Gurj can clarify this matter.

Regarding your second point;

How dare you draw parallel’s to the work of former TAG boss. That is wholly abhorrent as it bears no resemblence. It would seem you are right to say that you are not a good judge of character at all.

Whether you thought or you think. You knew or you know that I am a sound guy or not I can not deduce the reasoning for whichever you meant. However, we have met on a few occasions and I have also met you at times with Grinder at the Mascrat Meet.

This is one of the e mails you sent me after seeing the RZ at mine;

Freddy. Your right the Rz you have just sold really is what Rx7\'ns are about. That\'s one nice looking car. Anyway after seeing that RZ i\'ve decided i need to do more saving :) I can\'t quite put my finger on it but there\'s some thing about the later FD\'s i prefer. Cheers Chris

We have met and we have conversed. Whether you accept it or not.

I hope that clears things up folks. :)

Regards,
Freddy.
First off, Thanks for putting my Name and Email on the net, Yep i came to your Place and saw the Black fd, but at the time i thought i was talking to a Third party as you didn\'t say you where Freddy but some one else?? (Remember the guy who was with me, well he can vouch for this) Then at a later date i found out who you where (Mascrat i belive when Stu said hears Freddy in his FD)

But hey at the end of the day everyone has there opinion, for every bad you must have many good customers that can vouch right???

^ well said Thank you.

Lawler, First of i apologizes for messing up your thread and the outburst.

OK to Business, what sort of thing are you looking for???? and what sort of price range, At the moment its a Buyers market so Fd\'s seem to spen a bit of time For sale, so that said haggle... you will get a better deal, but as for engines etc you are right asking for rebuild proof etc, I spent months looking for the perfect FD for me and in the end i bought one that had engine problems and had it rebuilt (so i knew exactly what the history of the engine was).

I have a few friends that bought Fd\'s and i found very quickly that people fall in love with the looks and forget the short comings. So my advise being an owner and have gone through it all is hold out for the FD that does it for you, one will come.

for a real piece of mind, get them to bring it to pip at wgt and have a complete check over on:
compression check,
water system pressure check,
wiring, electric voltage check, and general bits like bushes .........
wish someone had told me that when i bought mine, its not until 3 years n 2 engines later did i finally find out what is wrong with the car :(

J.j.

just to add, i\'ve known freddy for over 2 years now and cant fault the guy at all.  go give him a visit and have a look at his collection of rexs, im sure he\'ll work something out for you.
