Hi, while my engine is out and ive had nice street port and just got a T04S :bandit  in a id thought id mess about with my FMIC setup to see if i could convert to a vmount

I removed the rad and my FMIC and began to test fit them. Have a look at the links below and let me know your thoughts. My concerns are the angle of the rads, the space for for air to get to the inlet feed and also i plan on keeping the oem bonnet my only other concern is is there enough room for the engine.. cheers

Angles dont look too bad, just make sure the ends are blocked off, so the air cant by-pass it. Also remember that you\'ll could do a nice feed for the air filter.

Will you post up how your temps fare with the re-modelling to V-mount.

Yep sure will!! maybe some time though as i still got a few more bits to do before engine goes in!!! :(

dont foget you need a hole in the bonnet for the hot air to escape

looking good there keep us posted...

I would say any type of v-mount done properly will bring down the temps...i was seeing 12degrees last night coming back from central London...i know it was freezing but i have never ever seen these temps on any of my previous rexe\'s with front and standard mount IC:Hammer

Looking good :)
Is that the standard Rad? I\'m looking at doing something similar :)
Where is the IC from?

looking at it again i think you need to try and make the ic front sit flat with where the slam pane is and get some brackets made so that the inlet and outlet are higher.  It will help you to run IC pipes with enough clearance and you may get some room to have the induction kit sat flat on one side.

Is it going to be single or twin turbo motor as if single it will make life easier.  When you mount the IC higher you will be able to play with more room under the IC to place your rad and a/c rad higher in order to keep your power steering pipes flat underneath.  Make sure the under tray is back on so that there are no bits hanging down to catch while driving...

Hi, im glad you have responed your little project spured me on!! :Giggle

The plan is to make the rear of the IC high tand run a alloy strip between the two to hold them in place. Its going on a single tubby so  nice and simple piping!!
The the other side concerns me, because of the ps pump, its hard to gauge without the engine in!

well the power steering side will be in the way i think as the your ic is wider...you can remove the AC and with a bit of mod then move the power steering down.  That one way or the will be to get that side blocked off and exit  up wards and use 90degree hose straight into Greddy elbow..:Thumbsup!
