I have had good prices through A-Plan, Im 20 and been insured with them since i was 18 on my REX.

Quote from: TTMan;585724when im 21 i will only be paying £750 for a full year fully comp :D 2 months to go!

Have renewed now, came out at just under £900 because I chose to do monthly payments rather than annual, still saving around a grand though so cant complain!

karl_tate

which insurance company is that with??

You may want to consider A-plan they are an insurance brooker it would be intereting to know what they come back with as they beat my best quote from adrian flux. Also mention that you got the details from here next time ill speak to him ill ask about membership discount.

I just got insurance for my Gen 1 for £185 under a classic insurance policy with Adrian Flux. Sky Insurance was over £350 even when I said I was a club member. Dont know if a Gen 3 can be put on classic insurance( and I am a LOT over 22Yr old) worth a try!

admiral mate, will be worth checking elephant as well as they are owned by same company but quotes always seem to come out slightly different. I was already with elephant at 20 paying 1800 but they said they couldnt match admiral (their sister companies!) price so had to cancel and start again with admiral. hth :burnout

Time for my renewal. Still trying to get it cheaper but everyone else wants ~£1500 so think I\'ll stick with Admiral:

Admiral
22yrs old (full UK licence since 17)
2yrs NCB
Named driver on another vehicle
£1040 Comprehensive

i was looking on admirals site and found two options for insuraces, both with 2626cc. one with turbo coupe and the second with twin turbo coupe.
the twin turbo coupe is alot more expensive to insure.
does anyone know the difference between the two?
i am less than 10 weeks away from buying my first 7 so im looking at insurance now.
any help would be appreciated.

Jit

you want the one which is twin turbo coupe

FreddyM

what is the reason for the turbo coupe? single turbo conversion?

Jit

hmm as i understand it, the insurance companies have ....ed up heavily with rotary cars and what is below is what I was told by my insurance company as definitive. He said there are a lot of models listed on websites for which a car doesnt even exist

2354cc Coupe = 1st Gen RX7 (FB) 12a engine normally aspirated
2354cc Turbo Coupe = 1st Gen RX7 (FB) 12a engine Elford Turbo
2616cc Coupe Inj = 2nd Gen (FC) 13b engine normally aspirated
2616cc Turbo Coupe = 2nd Gen (FC) 13b engine Turbo II or import equivalent
2616cc Twin Turbo Coupe = 3rd Gen (FD) 13b engine Twin Turbo
2616cc Twin Turbo Import = 3rd Gen (FD) 13b engine Twin Turbo Import
