Hi All

My RX got dented on the wing as it was parked by some f……. who drove away.

Now I have to repair the wing and change and re-spray the lip (drivers side only â€" it comes in 2 halves) I may use my Chips away guy who has a machine to pull out the dents, then he will re-spray it.  He is a magician…

My options are to buy a whole one from Niviera imports for around £195,  or a half from mazdarotaryparts.com for around £138 plus VAT (original Mazda half)

I also have a chance to buy a fibreglass one for only £95.00 but it is a complete lip and it is made form PRF

Any one had any dealings with PRF made splitters?  Do they crack?  The Mazda one is from plastic and fortunately it bends so only the paint generally gets damaged.

What are your thoughts?  Incidentally, any one has a 99 spec lip or a driver’s side half for sale?

I think it is actually FRP ( fibre reinforced plastic ) sorry about the typo

I had a FRP spoiler on my old impreza, had it imported from Poland.
Had it sprayed, and fitted by bodyshop. After first clean and polish, the spoiler was covered in loads of little white spots. Took it back to the bodyshop, and they told me that it was due to the quality of whatever it was made from, and the paint was reacting with it! LOL

So, if you do get something FRP, I\'d make sure you prep it properly, even  with another layer of smooth finishing filler over it, then paint after.

Thanks for that.

I have just ordered a halh of the lip from mazdarotaryparts.com.

At least I am getting a direct replacement and it is made out of plastic.

I got put off by horror stories with FRP
