Methanol?

It has been suggested to use methanol to get through the mot (CH3OH+ heat =CO2&H2O, no HC\'S & no CO), will the ecu detect a different fuel(meth. engines usually have to run 2.5 times richer). My thinking is to use it with some \'R\' to get it to the mot station&back, I think it will be ok, but \'famous last words\' and all that. Comments please.
