Yes it as been covered before.. And lots of people run different things for personal preference.. So before I splash out a bomb on rims I would like to double check.. well triple check that the following will be okay on my Burnout kit.

Rears
19"x9.5" or 10" ET30

Fronts
19"x8.5" or 9" ET30

May run 18\'s if I can\'t find anything else.. Will the same offsets still apply?

Thank you

yes these will fit no problem
if i had 8 hour to cut down a tree. i`d spend 6 sharpening the axe

I run 19x10 on the rear of my standard car with no problems at all. You might to stick to 8.5\'s on the front as tram lining will be more of a problem with the 9\'s.

Guy\'s,

My project has been coming along slowly so I am still looking at wheels.. I have located as set of 19\'s 8.5 fronts and 9.5 rears.. However the offset is 30at the rear and 20 at the front.. Will this be okay?? I figure the rear is where I will get arch rub if I go to low on the offset and the front arches seem to have bucket loads of room as long as I don\'t end up rubbing through the inner arch and water bottles! Although suely putting the wheel out should clear this area better?! Would 25offset be too low on the back? maybe better on the front though?

Please let me know..
Cheers

I originally went for some new wheels 19x8.5 +17 and 19x10.5 +23, and learned by my mistakes ! My original wheels where 19x8.5 +38 and 19x9.5 +38and they fitted fine, but where somewhat drowned in the arches (they fitted nicely under the stock wings).

I miscalculated the new offsets based on KDI\'s recommendations, bought some wheels and simply they didn\'t fit. The rears stuck out past the arches and the fronts managed to touch the front part of the arch liner, and also the KDI skirts depending on which direction you steered.

I have since done some playing. We have altered the rear arches to be even wider, and they now accommodate the +23\'s, but the front had no hope so I purchased replacement rims at +37 offset, with it in mind to put on some 10 or 15mm spacers to pull them out a bit.

So, from my experimentation with the old +38s and some 6mm, 10mm, and 12mm spacers, I think the optimum offset is around +26 to +28 on the front with 8.5" rims. I think you will have rubbing issues on +20.

Thanks for a very informative reply Craig...

Do you reckon 25\'s would clear the fronts okay? and then 30\'s would be okay for the rear??

Alternatively will 25\'s fit all round? I want to make the most of the arches!

It\'s a pain trying to find some rims to fit!! Must be a very odd offset!
Bummer!

Thank you

It\'s all a bit confusing tbh. KDI\'s demo car runs the following specs;

WEDS BVILLENS T8S
18F 9.0J+6
19R 10.0J+6

GOODYEAR REVSPEC
215/40 R18
235/35 R19

These +6 offsets are only possible because the car is running ridiculously stretched tyres and has it\'s camber altered to fit the arches, rather than make it usable on the road.

I\'ve heard through other groups and threads that you really must stay above +25mm.

From what I\'ve learned, I really wouldn\'t jump in at the deep end until you\'ve had a chance to try the wheels first. If you can beg, borrow, steal some rims in the proposed offset, or use spacers to get the equivalent offset, then it will help. Remember, no supplier will refund you for rims that don\'t fit.

Hi There,

I was thinking of running a bit of stretch on the tyres to help. but only like 255\'s and 215\'s instead of 265 and 225!

What is this car you are talking about? can you post a picture?

Trying to borrow a set is a good idea if I can find some! Was considering running 19\'s as some people say the 18\'s look small in the big arches?

The price of rubber goes up quite a bit though!

Like you say, the last thing I want to do is fork out on a set of rims that don\'t fit! Hence I have checked the sizes so many times!

Craig, I googled it!! Thought it would be.. The lovely looking black one I have as my desktop that I am working towards with mine!!

Just a thought.. What\'s the down side of getting a nice set of rims at +30 or more offset so I now they will clear okay. Then getting some spacers and running them permanently once I get the the required fitting?

That\'s the least risky strategy, unless you can go to a dealer and try on many different sizes. If you are going for spacers, make sure you get some decent quality ones like Project Kics, etc.

leeroy_25

Thanks Craig,

can you point me in the direction of a good place to get spacers and how much these are liklely to cost? I presume up to about 10mm just requires longer bolts to bolt through them?? and not bolt on the hub then bolt into the spacer? If I worked on get 38 offset wheels thn the max I am likely to need will be 10-12 mm?

Cheers

Yep - speak to Miguel at Neweraparts (//www.neweraparts.com) as they do Project Kics units in various sizes. They are proper bolt on ones that don\'t compromise the length or strength of the existing bolts.
