anyone on here ever bought a 5th gear syncro

Would be easier to get hold of a good second hand box, there are a few about and not fantastically expensive, you just need to find one you can try before its taken out.

You can get the Syncro\'s but there not nice to fit.

i got mine done.  it is apparently very easy to do.  i got charged about half an hour labour so must be pretty easy

Can it be done by just removing the plate at the bottom of the box?

not sure i aint rebuilt an rx7 box, some of them you can do with the box in the car, but not 100% on the rex, im gonna ring alan jackson and see if he knows, hes taken everything apart in his time so he\'ll know
