Genius idea? Or just stupid?

Just been sitting and thinking...

I think I\'m not "seeing" full boost after sodding around with my boost gauge so it\'s leaking a little on the 2nd turbo... Or could be intercooler hoses as I had them off, and it\'s only making .5 bar on the 2nd turbo (fine, .8 bar on the first).

But then I though how do you find boost leaks? Must be a nightmare!

But now the crazy bit, First I though if you tapped a hole and put a tyre valve in then used a foot pump to pump it up to the .8 bar of pressure! But then realised this would leak past the turbo of course! D\'oh!

But, could you not take off and intercooler hose, bung it up with a rubber thingy, with a tyre valve and do the same, foot pump it to the correct pressue and it should hold right? And then you can try and find any possible leaks?

Or am I just mad?

no idea really but aren\'t some of the valves one way.

Or if you have a leak you can use the old stick a pice of rubber pipe in your ear and wangle that around the engine bay! :Thumbs-up  ive seen something similar to what your saying on a site in the USA let me have a little dig
I woof in your general direction.

And then drive to find the leak??? Surely you\'d not hear it or am I missing something?
