Right then Changed all the Pads on the Front\'s

now ive just come to sort the rears out and i cant compress the piston anymore ???  they are not seized as when i press the brake pedel they come out and i can push back in to the same position,
any ideas as to what i can do to get the piston bit back a bit further so i can get them back on :D

interloper393

remove the brake servo cap but wrap it in a clothe cus it will overflow when you push the piston in

Yeah I done that already But Still wouldnt Go in any further :D :D

Teighto

right just been doing a bit of reading form some old posts and apparently the rear caliper pistons need turning back in, and a special tool is needed !!

can anyone confirm this and if so what tool is it ??

thanks
Chris

Spartacus

You need to turn the rear calipers clockwise, you can either get a universal tool from almost any motor factors or just use long nose pliers if your careful.

Teighto

Cool will give that a go in the morning :D :D

nikp

They\'re a bit of a bugger, but when you get going on them, they go in ok. I ended up using a spanner in them for the leverage.

Teighto

Ok just wanna check before i start is it clockwise ??

Teighto

Dont worry all Sorted and new pads in :D

Chris, you dont really need a special tool for this, either a pair of stilsons (sp?) or a 15mm spanner and a long screw driver. ;)
