Hi

Any one has a comment / advice on changing disks form Mazda stock ones to grooved ones for a better stopping distance? Not for the track but for the street use …

Question really is:

Do I have to change front and back or can I just change the back or just the front?

If I were to do just one set for now, which one is the one I should do first?

i am no expert by any means but I wouldnt have thought that a disk change wouldnt have made a major impact would it?

Hi Micheal,

Did you get my e-mail?

I would personally recommend the project U SCR discs with pads to suite. I would suggest going all round as everything will be new and will ware evenly.

I would certianly change pads all round at a minimum as you find with some after market sets have softer compound rear pads that are desgined to work with the fornts.

...you may be just right; I want the "look" and a slightly better breaking...

surely grooved disks will improve breaking, no?

well groved disks will certainly look better and different pads can improve braking

might be a good option as you get alot of kit with this

Please be very careful if you try and buy these from e-bay because as an official Brembo distributor I have checked to see if we could buy the Brembo "Sport" shown on the e-bay site and have been told that there is NO listing for RX-7!

Hope this helps

I changed my set-up from stock to

Front - BalckDiamond grooved discs with Hawk HT-10 pads
Rear - Hawk HP+ pads (stock discs)

Balance seems to be pretty good.  Maybe a little more fron biased than stock but minimally so.  From cold they feel as good as stock but when a little warm they\'re awesome.

It\'s certainly a case of having to feel what the breaks are doing when breaking hard thuough as it\'s very easy to trigger ABS at pretty much any speed!

Hi Michael,

Please be warned that Iain\'s pads are for track/road and not road/track.
All the best Clive

Only downside with the stuff Clive supplied me with is the level of dust they produce.  Much worse than standard material but their wear-rate is pretty good which is suprising.

The theory is that these pads require more heat to get them working than standard material but cope far better at high temps (give off less gasses etc).

In practice, anda s a result of Clive\'s spending time and effort finding the right gear, they do work very very well for moderate to hard use.

Not really required for road use unless you\'re the king of late breakers - there are cheaper options available!

...street racing on private roads and maybe drag strip at rotorstock - that is what I need the disks for...

..cheaper options - sugestions?
