As stated before im looking for around 400bhp, was wondering whos running big horsepower and if anyones doing it without any porting work

Sorry i should have had this in the technical section....moderators:WaveBye

Depends if you mean 400bhp flywheel or at the wheels ? 400 at the fly is hard pushed on stock turbos and ports on a good compression engine. If your looking for 400 at the wheels then a good streetport and a GT35/40 would do it relitively easily with all the right supporting mods.

Good idea to do a search and look at the dyno section. Quite a few good threads coving the subject.

me and Rich (stormbleeder) are in the process of trying to hit 400 ATW with a street port and gt35r, so keep an eye out for our progress!
I dont think it can be done without porting though. :)

Carl

It can be done, but you end up running higher boost to achieve it which creates more heat on the inlet temps and also more stress on ancillaries.

so would i be looking at a street port or something more aggressive, as im in shetland i would prefer to port myself so i would need templates(any ideas/help) and i have the means, i teach engineering at a local college so mig, tig, milling, lathes, carbide cutters etc are all available to me.

I have a pair of ported plates (Carl Haywood) sitting in my garage at the moment you could buy from me.  Let me know.

Colin, perhaps you could give one of the vendors a ring to see if fd plates would work on a FC engine.  I would be looking at £240 for the pair.
