Just picked up a 95 RX-7 there recently, its a series 3 95. I just noticed that that inside the door it has type RB special edition on a sticker.
Does special edition mean anything, it doesn\'t have any extras that I know of?

I think sticker says type & special edition on all of them. Then RB is typed on and what special if you know what i mean. As mine is the same only type r can anybody back this up or am i talking rubbish. Phil

There was a number of special editions over the years on different models from what I read earlier. I don\'t think there all special edition though.

I just went through the search there, on post goes through every model he can remember for every years and mine doesn\'t seem to be listed.

As Phil said above, the "Special Edition" bit is just a heading. If there\'s nothing printed underneath it then it\'s not a special edition.

Cheers for that, I thought I understood his post but I get what he meant now.

Doesn\'t mean a great deal tbh, mine is also a RB special edition but after all the mods and stuff it dont mean alot :D

You get different features on different models thats all bud, but as i said after a car has been modded to the owners taste not alot remains so pointless really :3Confused

Bathurst

As mentioned above its just a generic plate with model and special edition fields filled in as appropriate. If you car is a special edition further details would be quoted underneath it as below:

Model:
RB
Special Edition:
Bathurst Type X

most people see:
Model:
RB or R/RS
Special Edition:
Blank

Series 3 is still in the 1st gen shape ;)

What series is it then, on the door the VIN says - FD3S -304XXXX

I thought that the first number after the gen was the series?

K1HKS arse

FD3S is a 3rd generation and is also a Series 6.

As far as I know the series 6 was sold up to October 95 with the series 7 being sold from november, is there anyway of me knowing which i have? Im looking to pick up a PFC and I know theres 2 PFC models in 95, how would I know which to choose

mullins

K1HKS is correct. Basically in a nutshell

1st gen SA = series 1 (1978-)
1st gen FB = series 2
1st gen FB = series 3 (up to about 1985)

2nd gen FC = series 4
2nd gen FC = series 5 (facelift model with skyline\'ish rear lamps)

3rd gen FD = series 6
3rd gen FD = series 7

colly

Series 6 was sold up till late 95 with series 7 being sold from November 95 onward, so if ye have a 95 how do ye know which one ye have?
