Okay so ive been having some problems, it seems like my secondary turbo isnt working properly, its almost as if it stall and feels gutless.  Sometimes its okay and sometimes it isnt !!

its only happened since i removed my ACV ( i have a power FC)

so anyway ive been sniffing around again and found this, could this replaced pipe be the possible cause ?

it looks misshapen to me

Joeh

You sure the turbo isn\'t failing (damaged/worn out)? How does it sound like/feel when the second turbo doesn\'t kick? Any poping noises?

Anyway, try pull that pipe up a little from where it connects, so the arch can be under less pressure and more rounded... or pinch it with your hand until it forms the proper shape... adjust it if it doesn\'t retain it :O

Not sure if it would effect it though.

Get the vaccuum diagram and check all the hoses. BTW you\'re still running on stock hoses, I would recommend that you get some 3/4 mm Silicon hoses (like 8 meters), a day off work, a diagram of vacuum hoses and some small cable ties... and replace them all.. because they are known for cracking and such which allows air pressure leak causing all types of problems :O

If you\'re not too far I could give you a hand :)

yeah if u need a hand john gimme a shout...

Turbo\'s seem fine when working, Trex (dom) gave em a clean bill of health when he checked over my car  2 month\'s a go.

I think im just going to put the acv back on and see how that works out, it seems odd thats it happened since then, ive blocked off the pipes even let them vent to atmos and both ways (as recomended ) and still issues!
should i remove the solenoids totally?  sod it im 99% sure im going uprated non sequential anyhoo, im just after a fix for the mean time..

John I told you to get a nice big GT45 like mine fellar.... ;)
TRex the Ecowarrior - Recycling exhaust gas and using it to create energy. Just doing my bit

im in a similar boat (The First turbo spools up perfectly fine then around 4k when the 2nd should kick in it doesnt and the car becomes gutless from then on) I had to halt my diag as the boost controller died (should be getting a new one in the post shortly :chat)  But i did a lot of reserch into this problem, posible causes of the top of my head can be a faulty/sticky solenoid blown or cracked vac pipe or more easy to check are the \'check\' valves. (those little white and green things littered around the front of the UIM) the one thats the usual culprit is the one thats sat underneeth the preasure chamber (10 min job to check) ;)  - i actualy ordered a set of viton ones from USA but again never got chance to see if it fixed my prob :Hammer
I woof in your general direction.

HaywardRotary

ding dong....

smells alot like check valves to me!!!  make sure that your valves are in the right way round and that you can only blow them one way.

that would be my first thing!!

also there is a pipe with a \'Pill\' in it down by the tubs, did you replace any pipes round there??

All sorted... how weird, as soon as i put the ACV back on bingo, boosting fine to .8 bar  :xconfused

I seem to be having the same prob what is the ACV and where abouts is it.sorry to sound stupid but i\'m new to the rx7.

John_Hudson

Hi Joe, the air control valve sits under the plenum along side the rats nest
the acv is to do with emissions and your airpump

sorry its a cr@ppy pic but best i have

where is it in that pic ? what does it look like ?

John_Hudson

sorry, its the big thing at the top :D

joe 93

Thanks for reply.when i rev the car it blows off through the dump valve but if i give it a few revs one after another it stops blowing off and sounds like its a non turbo if you understand what i mean?
