Ah been a while since i asked a stupid question, OK probably not that long lol, but since i should/will (crosses fingers throws salt over shoulder etc etc) be picking car up later this week just wanted to clarify a couple of things which i may need to do.

Which coolant is generally prefered to use in the ole rotary engine, i\'ve heard mention of Redline water wetter is this actually a coolant or an additive or such like?

Any recommendations & advice of where to buy for a reasonable price will be greatfully received.....:god

I also vaguely recall reading that glycol based uns weren\'t very good for the rotary but my fragile little memory may have that wrong?
I wana replace all the coolant just so i know it\'s sorted & i had already got sum nice distilled water but am i right in thinking running pure coolant, whichever sort, would be preferrable?

Also i believe there\'s various errors made with which bit to stick coolant in from previous threads so lets play help the retard which bits on the attached pikky do i need to fill with what (i really gora get a basic manual from mazda or sumin.....)

Oh & dumb ass round 29 how do you disconnect the battery so i can remove that bad boy till i get alarm fitted?
Thank you kindly
Si (told you i was a technical mongol! lol)

Draining and filling coolant in these things is a complete nightmare. It is very hard to bleed and it take several goes to fill it up. There is a how to somewhere once i find it i will post it up!

Im not sure what type of coolant is required mazda dealer should be able to give u some. Dont think it should cost that much.

Thanks

Think most people ere use Redline coolant. Have to ask someone where the heck to get it as I have no idea :)

You fill in through the yellow cap in the middle (not the one on the green plastic tank aka AST)

btw, your filter looks HORRID. Time to get some more me thinks, they look a filthy! :)

They are easy to replace mind :)

or pure coolant &/or waterwetter looking at it bottles of WW are ~120ml? how much does the full coolant system take?
Si (in need of cunning plans even Baldrick style uns lol)

i dont think you should ever use 100% coolant mix. It wont give u the protection u require.

40%-30% coolnt mix should suffice. that should give -20 to 130+ i think. im not sure, but check that site u should tell u there. 100% is too strong.

But ill let someone more experienced with rexs correct me if they can.

mazda will be ur best bet.

They may give you ready mixed stuff. Other wise u will have to mix it to your concentration level.

Hope this helps.
