I have just taken the front suspension arms off my rex so I can get some new poly bushes pressed in and fit my new Tein\'s. During the process I have messed up the ball joint rubbers with a cheap halfords ball joint splitter and a large hammer.

Can you buy the ball joints and have them pressed in or do I need a whole new suspension arms? I have looked on the RX supplier sites listed above and seem to just sell new wishbones at a costly £330 each!

Also how on earth do you get the ABS sensor of the hub without destorying it? The drivers side one I have attempted to remove is now in two pieces.....

Thanks

You remove the ABS sensor by undoing he one bolt that holds the sensor into the hub. You then have to gently persuade it out. It can take time and patient, it helps if you can get the sensor turning andf get some penetrating oil into it. But to remove with no damage is difficult. If you have knackered the drivers side I have one available that I removed and will not be using. Not damaged!

I think you can only get the ball joint with a fresh arm !

Plus the easier option on the abs is to unplug it from the loom in the engine bay and then remove its ties and then you don\'t have to disturb the sensor at all. Easier to do on the back.

do you know if you can buy just new rubbers for the ball joint? I have taken a better look at them this evening and they look ok except for a split in the boot. now I know why they call these cheap halford prongs ball joint splitters :)
