Im thinking about buying an RX7 in the near future, and i need all you knowledgable ones to tell me what i should look out for when buying, what the running cost are like, how reliable are RX7\'s to use generally and on a daily basis, cause at the mo all i read is how people struggle to keep them going!?  i live in wimborne in dorset and have seen a couple locally but i have never been in one (only just seen them at the shows), anyone in the area be kind enough to take me for a spin and to make sure that i get hooked on the RX7. I have seen a generation 3, single turbo type s in silver advertised on //www.bonsaicars.com. let me know what you think.

Many thanks

Your first consideration \'MUST\' be insurance.

Have you looked into insurance quotes yet?

There\'s loads of threads covering this, have a read.

Good luck.
I started with nothing and I have most of it left

What the heck is a 1992 type S anyway? never heard of type S, heard of RS but Bonsai reckon it\'s one below type R?

Personally I wouldn\'t buy one from them. Only ever heard things like that they are ex crash cars & so on. Don\'t know anyone that\'s bought one from them... price is quite low too..
The Beatles were prats.."Money can\'t buy me lovveeee".. utter rubbish. You can buy love here

Jonh\'s on the money, at 22 you\'ll find it hard enough to insure a bone-stock FD, forget about a single turbo\'d car unless you have a few £K to chuck away each year for the insurance premium :(

I\'ve seen a fair few Bonsai cars, none that special to be honest, they buy a look of accident cars I believe which is why some of their motors are very cheap. Having said that there seem to be a few FD\'s on their stock list that are listed as grade 4 cars; just see the auction sheet to confirm all is as it should be thats all.

Wimbourne, good location mate; Tim/RX Motors in on your door step in Minchington, Blanford Forum. He\'s a great guy and well respected, one of the most experienced Rotary guys in the UK without a doubt. And good value.

As for the info you\'re after about relialbility and all that, search the archives, there are loads of threads on this kind of thing unsurprisingly...

Type S was the early base car, no extras, the cheapest FD money could buy.

See Brians model list here for the differences between the type this and the type that...
