I was under the impression that the FD\'s aircon can\'t be regassed as its just a simple closed system.

But i\'ve heard of people regassing theirs...

Can I regas mine??

you can although it might need converting depending on what year it is, as the old gas is now illegal.

RedRummy

ah yes, it will be the new gas...

What needs to be done to it to convert it?

not sure, a different part I think :)

don\'t know mate tbh, I was going to get mine done at one point and from memory is wasn\'t very complicated/expensive.

RAW

mine is an L 94 and had the new gas, so all it would require is a refill, if there weren\'t holes in the condensor!

RedRummy

cool, same age as mine...

funnily enough it worked fine when I got it (few months ago) but last weekend it wouldn\'t pump any cold air out...

Have even considered ditching it altogether... never had an air-conned car, so what you don\'t know, you don\'t miss!!  :D

There should be a yellow & black sticker on the underside the bunnet to tell you what air con system gas you use.

mines a 93 but is r134 (new gas) must have been one of the first! I recharged it with a kit from halfords for £25 and it seems ok. Bit slow to get cool, takes about 30mins to get really cool for some reason. hth
