Hi all,

My front wipers are doing strange things....

They do the upward wipe fine but slow right down on the downward wipe - they actually wouldnt go back down today on the motrway at any speed over 80. They also squeel a fair bit although this appears to be coming from the blades (which I have just changed - no difference)

My father in law mentioned something about "they might not be tight" - something to do with the attachment to the motor.... im not sure even what to look at.

Any help apreciated (its in at Pip\'s on Saturday for a service so if I need wiper motors I would love to work it out before going so I can get some to take with me)

Anyone else going to Pip\'s saturday? if so I will say hi :)

Thanks guys an gals.

Erm thanks for the link but not quite what i needed (thank you tho)

I have new blades etc but that hasnt helped (and they are Bosch)

I just want to try and find out why they are going so slow on the downstroke.

I am hoping I dont need new motors but......

Its a problem Ive had on several cars, I believe its to do with the rake of the screen, the winds lifts whereas on a more upright screen it pushes the blades on to the screen.
Short of a more powerful motor, I dont think there is a satisfactory answer, other than drive slower + less wind.
Keep us posted as Im interested to know your results

I should point out they have only just started doing this. They have been fine since I bought the car up until recently. The blades have the little spoilers on and are the same ones I think as what were on for the last 6 months. I think its a motor problem rather than anything to do with the blades

Try putting one blade (drivers one is the longest)  onto passenger side,  position it so it sweeps both sides of the screen,   if the motor only has to push one blade may cure your problem m8 :)
