These are just a few pics i took while removing the air pump and the bits connected to it.

was this difficult to do?

where did you get the plates etc from or did you make them and also can you do write up! :)

i would like to do this but havent got round to it and i havent checked where the air pump system goes fully so i dont really know where or what to blank other than the obvious.

cheers

I found it not too hard at all... a couple of the threaded bolts were a complete pain to get at and some of them i left in due to lack of space.
I just learned as i went and any pipes that fed off the airpump i followed and seen where they went to, then just removed whatever was on the end. Once you\'ve removed the air filter and get the plenum off its really simple to follow where each of the pipes go that are attached to the airpump. You have to get a pulley kit which is for the main pulley, altenator and water pump. This increases the size of the pulleys on the altenator and water pump to compensate for the loss of the air pump pulley, you get a shorter belt with the kit (usually) and i just replaced both belts while i had the access to both.

Thankfully it all worked fine after i finished.

The blanking plates i got from Rx7 Store in the states they have plates for more than just the air pump removal but i\'ve stopped there for just now. They delivered pretty quick as well, i\'m sure a couple of the vendors on here might well have the kit, not too sure on who though.

Scot... did you put any resistors in the plugs you removed from the unit under the UIM??? if not have you had any error codes come up?? I presume your running a power fc??

Sorry for all the questions mate, but I\'m in the middle of doing this myself!!

Cheers

Yeah i got the Power FC. When i unpluged the connectors i had read that you are meant to get errors showing but i\'ve still had nothing, which either means the bulb in my dash is gone, or its happy without it, hehe.

The car is running perfect without it and don\'t seem to be getting pops or too many flames, only when i push it. Its slightly unhappy when you drive a bit then stop, takes a couple of seconds just to idle steady then its fine again, but i\'ll get the map seen to this summer when i get back.
