Do I need this connected?

The picture shows the vac pipe setup for a single convertion, im in two mind\'s to connect the yellow pipe which is shown in the pic attached to the inlet manifold, really im unsure what it does???

No, the yellow pipe does not need connecting. Blank that pipe off (Don\'t let it vent to atmosphere)
