Hi all,

my rex has been laid up in the garage since december, been doing a few little jobs to it (nothing major) but hasn\'t been started since december, finally finished the final two jobs yesterday new plugs (bur9\'s and 7\'s) and magnecor leads and a new battery.
I took the rigid intercooler pipe and throttle body off to make the plug and lead change easier, started her up this morning (first time in months) she fired up first time but seems to be running like an absolute pig, quite abit of smoke and idling erraticaly, can anyone tell me if this is normal and should i just leave it running to burn off the excess oil or does it sound like somethings wrong (don\'t want to leave it running and shag the engine without advice) engine is only 6000mls old.
Any help is greatly appreciated
cheers

ps, the old plugs were all bur9\'s would changing the leading plugs to 7\'s make a difference?

Make sure that all the  throttle body nuts/bolts are done up properly, feel for any air leaks etc.....

I had this problem with my red FD eailer this year i had been off the road not started for ages. I good long run down to the coast cleaned out the muck in the engine and it ran like a top.

Cheers buddy, checked everything about a dozen times all seems ok, it\'s the amount of black smoke thats worrying me most I think I\'ll take it for a run see if that clears it??
