Are FCs generally this good at draining batteries?

Tried to start my FC today to move it to its new resting place (finally got a garage for it). On account of it not having moved for six weeks[1], the battery was dead. And I mean DEAD as a doornail.

This is now the third time it\'s managed to drain the battery and the second battery within a 13 months so I\'m getting a bit hacked off with this. The car only has an immobiliser and no alarm that\'s potentially draining the battery. Of course the immobiliser could help with draining the battery...

Anybody got a suggestion for a gel battery replacement of appropriate size and capacity in the hope that a better battery will at least make this less likely to happen? Of course I\'ll be checking for current flow when/if I manage to resurrect the battery.

[1] It\'s still not road legal thanks to the bodyshop issue still being unresolved. That\'s not being help by me being away either...

Oh joy. I guess I better investigate how much a decent, deep-cycle Gel Battery costs, \'cos I\'m fed up with coughing up for new lead-acid batteries.

Why not just buy a trickle charger instead :xconfused

Well, I do have one for the bikes but that\'s in the garage over here <--- whereas the FC is being moved into the garage over there ---> and I don\'t think the neighbours would look too kindly on me running about 150 ft of extension cables across their gardens :D.

Plus I don\'t like having to pull the battery every few weeks to put it on the charger.

Get a solar powered one :Thumbsup! (I think you can also get ones that don\'t require you to pull the battery either, I could be wrong on that though)
