Unlike a piston engine where you would get an uprated headgasket, pistons etc etc.

What about on a Rx7?

Obviously you would need something along the lines of apexi pfc, and fuelling.

But what else? Would anything else be needed??

I\'m thinking of going single down the line, nothing crazy. About 400, 450bhp.

Anyone recommend what I would need?? Is any engine work needed?

Currently have :

HKS Exhaust
HKS Hard pipes
HKS SSQV
Water temp, oil temp, oil pressure, boost gauge.

its best to search the forum as the same question has been asked loads of times and i have typed huge replies as have others.
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

Would make sense for some nice mod to make it a sticky then! :)

PS : done a quick search and not found anything usefull yet.

Going Single:

Cooling
Radiator (size and position)
Intercooler/Charge-Cooler

Fuelling
Fuel pump
Pressure regulator
Bigger secondary injectors

Control
ECU (Apexi/Motec/etc)
Boost controller

Safety
Bigger/better breaks (you\'re doubling the power and still need to stop!!!)

Other
Suspension - all that power\'s no good on 14 year old suspension
Battery - often relocated to boot for engine bay space
GPS - so you know where the scameras are

Probably a few other bits too but the 1st 3 sections are the minimum required (apart from the turbo kit itself)

Your hard-pipes won\'t be much use after going single, exhaust might prove to be a limiting factor - exhaust flow is a major blocker to big power.  Some kind of engine porting might be required to hit 400bhp...

From experience I\'d probably shoot for 350rwhp with a smaller single turbo with decent supporting mods than go for biiig power right off...

If we stuck everything useful it\'d be a big old pile of stickies...

Cheers for the reply mate appreciated!

Yeah, 350rwhp seems more acheivable as a starting point.

Will start shopping around for parts... :)

Definately worth asking one of the trustworthy tuners for their take on the correct route to going single (more than possible I\'ve forgotten something from the list)!
