With my recent hunting idle problems (1000 rpm- 1500 rpm) i set about trying to find the cause. Ive checked so many hoses.........so many hoses.

So while trying to figure out the cause i realise that on gear change in highish revs, or deceleration in highish revs, i can hear a very audable psshhh noise like gas being released...ish.

Now i know the car does not have a dump valve of any kind, infact the engine itself is totally standard. Is this normal? To be honest this is my first turbo\'d car and im still learning so it could very well be :)

oh, and if i reset my apexi power fc using the commander (next step in the idle issue) is there going to be any issues? mapping etc?

Thanks for the help, appreciate it.

ah, gotcha, cheers.

noticed the throttle cable seemed very loose to and the arm on the end (no idea what its actually called) wobbles about. Need someone with a decent knowledge to have a quick look over tbh, if anyone is in the area..... :)

bin liner

could be a split in your i/c pipework or a split in one of the pipe joining rubbers...trace from top of turbo through to inlet elbow...
Definately want it mate but the dog has just died so will be getting the missus a new dog for christmas....
Sounds like a good deal but will have to ask the dragon first.....  :flamed  :spank

Whats the problem with idle? Stalling or eratic? Either way its a fueling or air leak (like bin_liner is saying). Check spark and condition of plugs.

Also with an PFC if it has been mapped I wouldn\'t reset it as this will put back to base map.
The other thing to look at would be your idle values on your PFC as mine did have a lumpy idle untill I called Pip and he let me know what the idle values should be so I set them up and all was fine.
All the best with it.

idle values are fine on PFC, idle is iratic and its actually more difficult to stall it :).

will go over the pipes when its light again, but they seemed fine when i checked them.

SavageUK

have checked all pipes and they seem fine to me :( must need another mapping maybe, will book it in at WGT some time in May
