I\'m well and truely stuck, I have got some braided hose and areoquip connectors so I can make up the rest of my fuel setup and I cannot get them to work.

No matter what I try the stainless steel hose will not cut nicely I\'ve used a dremmel and a very fine hacksaw. And I then can\'t get the red bit of the connector over the hose, even with a purfect cut it looks like its going to be a bloody tight fit.

Anyone got any suggestions cause this is getting on my last nerve!!!!!!!!!!!

tightly wrap the hose with electrical tape or similar before cutting and u will get a clean cut then leave the tape over the end before pushing end finisher on

Tried doesn\'t work mate still frays, also I don\'t think the finisher will go over it with tape on as they look to be a bloody tight fit.

The only easy way of cutting this stuff cleanly is with a thin slitting metal cutting disc in an angle grinder after you tape the place you want to cut.

All I have found using a hack saw is that you pull the braided wire into pieces.

Hope this helps

I;ve used a thin cutting wheel in a dremmel and that works quite well but not well enough, I\'m beging to think the its not actually possible, maybe a different brand of braided hose is everso slightly thinner but I\'m not convinced this is possible.

From memory a dremil spins no where near as fast as a proper 4" angle grinder.

The dremmel or the black and decker copy I have is adjustable for speed with the max being 17,000 rpm surely thats got to be quick enough.

nope its the tools i ended up taking mine to my mates garage and they used there propper tools to cut it for me

allstaruk

What did they use, and what problems were you having mate?

I was trying to do it with a hacksaw , bolt cutters and tried a dremel the braid just fraid the braided bit so much so i could not get it into the red pieces let alone screw it on.

My mate works at the local scooby garage and i cant tell you what he used im affraid when i got it back each end had black insulation tape over it and was neatly cut no fraying at all.

One way of doing this is driving over to the company Think Automotive with all of your pipe lengths marked and get them to fit all your pipe ends on properly and safely .

Hope this helps
