Okay that set you all up for a real downer! :D the car drove up perfectly fine except for one issue, when she goes idle the oil presure guage i presume drops down nearly flat! (is this normal characteristics) but once any throttle applied it jumps back up half way. ive also spotted that she has a oil leak! could this be atributed to? and whats goign to be the obvious causes of said leak?

Most important thing for me though was seeing the car start up after just been driven 80 miles first time :D

the stock oil pressure gauge is known to do that...dont worry too much about it....
where abouts is the oil leak? front or rear?

leon

Yeah i just had a look regarding the fluctuation its a common thing aint it :/ as for the oil leak i dont know yet letting the car cool down before i stick my head under and have a little poke around i can however see a pool on the splash tray at the verry bottom , so it may be a case of past owner hasnt screwed the oil filter on right?

Yeah its normally when its cold it does that, when it warms up fully (usually about 30 mins on the stock gauge) then it shouldnt go up as much when you accelerate.

All the stock water and oil gauges are known to be one thing.....crap !!!

Oil leak could be a bit more serious though, can be any number of things, oil filter not on tight, oil dripped when it was being topped up etc etc

im starting to think i had jumped the gun and it was perhaps past owner Or the powersteering of all things as the front houseing of that area was covered. Have cleaned it all off going to check oil level\'s tomrow and give her a run. and then see if we got a repeat of the mess.

nother bone to contend with the alarm does not work on the car although that said it is one from japan. im going to Love this week of work ;)
