Her we go again:rolleyes: - this is very similar to one of my previous posts. Have been looking at the following cars - Subaru Sti Type R - Mits Evo 4/5 - Skyline R32 GTR and of course the Gen 3 RX7 - I havent driven any of these as yet but would like your opinions on these cars please in terms of tuning, cost of ownership etc. Thanks a lot folks.

J4P RX

Well as for tuning, probably:

R32
Evo
RX7
Scooby

Cost of ownership?

Providing nothing major goes wrong on any of them probably:

R32 & RX7 most expensive
Evo
Scooby

These would just be my thoughts though.  An Evo is completly different to an RX7 so you really need to work out what you want first.

hmm yeah costs it\'s hard to pin down the bottom line IMO is which & what you want as all very different drives, well slightly on some of those, best bet is have a play or befriend owners of each so u can judge it against yer desires & whether it fits the bill :D

OK the EVO and scoob are very different beasts than the RX-7, the R32 is a little closer.

Cost of tuning would go in something like this order.

R32 - Highest
RX-7
EVO
Scoob

I also own a UK scoob, that for the lsat couple of years has been heavily modified, now back to standard as a daily runner.

The RX-7 is more of a drivers car than the EVO and the Scoob (even the type-R), cant comment on the R32 as I havent been in one. But I just think they are too heavy anyway. IMHO.

dont think R32 is all that heavy & with a relatively easy 400bhp is probably the biggest potential performer certainly on a budget. I wood take a type R scoob over the older evo but again depends on what you want from the car if you want driver controlled fun then type R with adjustable diff wood win over electric gizmos on evos specially the GSR. RX7 is as said a very different car as RWD & i guess maybe less of a run of the mill drive in all conditions kinda thing. The images of the various car is another matter all together scoob is becoming pretty boy racery as an image with ever decreasing prices & similarly for evo, R32 is less recognisable & a fair bit uglier than the later liners & so as such bit more of a Q car i suppose & RX7 well how luvly looking is it lol
all IMO & as i say very subjective depends on what you seek i was undecided but best to check em all out decide which you want & then whether yo can afford it..........
