I recently had had an aftermarket exhaust, silenced midepipe and PFC installed and mapped, following the remap, the following problem has presented itself:

When you engage the clutch and press the accelerator when moving off in first gear (or reverse for that matter), the revs drop to approx 200rpm, if you hesitate on the acc pedal at this stage, the car will cut out. To counter this problem, I tend to get the revs up at least 2k rpm prior to engaging the clutch. This doesn\'t happen in any other gear when on the move.

I should mention that the car starts first time, its takes ever so slightly longer to fire up when cold but its barely noticable. I first suspected the stepper motor but I would have thought that that this would only cause a problem when the engine is cold. The tuner mentioned that the TPS voltage checked out fine during the mapping session so I\'m assuming its not that.

Needless to say, quarter mile rules are out of the question! Any suggestions appreciated.

Could be a whole number of things, really need to be in car with laptop to diagnose but something you could check is that the clutch switch is working. If I recall there is a diagnostic on the PFC commander screens for this switch.

If you coast as you slow at a junction does it cut out? Mine did this, turned out to be a knackered clutch switch... Can be diagnosed on the sensor screen as above.

Thanks for the info guys. Re coasting when slowing down, this doesn\'t appear to have any impact. I\'ll take a look at the PFC to see if I can find out anything.

I think it\'ll be your PFC map.  Mine does the same but I\'m told that it\'s just a tweak to the pfc map.
